Cozy Cabin on the Water
Building a log cabin of your own is such a great idea. You'll always have a place to go when you want to get away from it all, and better yet, you could even possibly retire in your log cabin too. People build small log cabins for different reasons but mainly as vacation homes. But how do you know if you'd even like to have a log cabin in the first place? Well, one of the best ways to test out whether or not you'd like to own a cabin of your own is to try staying at different log cabin rentals like this one featured on VRBO. This log cabin is just a few feet from the water and is located in a private area where you can have some peace and quiet. It's located in Mountain Pine, Arkansas surrounded by trees and forest. All around the cabin, there are trees and grass with a nice ground level patio made from rock. This is a great idea for any log cabin designs, instead of building a taller deck out of wood, you could just level out the land and set some rocks or paving stones down. This would be a great way to save some time and money on a really large deck made from wood. Then, if you ever wanted to build a wooden platform deck, you could just build it on top of the stone to complete your log cabin.
This log cabin features 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a queen sofa bed which is plenty of space for up to 6 people. In a smaller log cabin like this, you may only want to enjoy it with one or two other people though. On the outside, the cabin is finished with half logs, and then on the inside, you'll see that there is some beautiful shiplap style wall and ceiling cover. Using the tongue in groove panelling or shiplap panelling is a great way to finish off the interior of a log home instead of using full round logs. This way you have the look of real, round logs on the outside, but nice, flat walls on the inside of the home. Flatter walls makes it much easier to hang art and to arrange furniture. It's also much easier to clean as round logs do tend to collect a lot of dust and there are many cracks in between logs where critters can hide out. You'll also notice that in this log cabin design they didn't include a lot of windows in the cabin which does make for a darker interior. If you wanted to open up a small log cabin, you could add more windows or put in some larger windows and maybe a sliding glass door as well.
Another great thing about this log cabin rental is that there is a boat ramp to launch your boat off of if you have one. There is also laundry inside the cabin as well as a full kitchen to prepare all of your meals in. The log cabin also features an indoor bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink, so you don't have to go outdoors to use an outhouse. So if you are starting to get serious about building a log cabin of your own consider staying in this one if you're planning a trip to Mountain Pine, Arkansas or if you happen to live in the area. If you're not planning on visiting that area check into small log cabin rentals in your own area and see what comes up.
